Kano boasts a wealth of tourism assets, including historical monuments and sites, alongside unique attractions like Kurmi Market, established in the 15th century at the heart of Kano City, and the centuries-old city wall with standing gates.

The state also offers various leisure and picnic spots, such as the strategically located Rock Castle overlooking the renowned Tiga Dam, Rurum Tourist Lodge, Kano Zoological Garden, and Gidan Makama Museum. Noteworthy is the Durbar, a globally unique and grand procession featuring colorful horses, showcasing the Emir's Regalia—a remarkable tradition dating back to Emir of Kano Muhammadu Rumfa. The Durbar takes place during both Eid-el-Fitr and Eid-el-Kabir, marking the end of Ramadan and the 10th day of Dhul Hajj, respectively.

Kano State Tourist Camp, situated near Central Hotel, serves as a crucial stop for European trans-Saharan visitors and a central hub for students and cultural groups. Providing excellent and affordable accommodation, it caters to tourists seeking an alternative to the city's luxurious hotels.
